Rock Wool Acoustic Panel

Rock Wool Acoustic Panel

Designed for noise control, this rock wool acoustic panel reduces sound reverberation and transmission while providing a Class A fire rating. It utilizes a high-density porous fiber structure to ensure consistent acoustic performance and structural stability.

Product Specifications

The rock wool acoustic panel features an open-porous structure that traps sound waves, typically achieving a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85 to 1.0 depending on thickness and density. Manufactured from basalt with an acidity coefficient greater than 1.6, the fibers resist chemical degradation and sagging over time. The material is non-combustible with a melting point exceeding 1000°C, ensuring it functions as a fire barrier without generating toxic smoke. It maintains dimensional stability and does not expand or contract due to temperature fluctuations.

Application Areas

These panels are installed in interior partitions, ceilings, and wall systems of commercial offices, cinemas, and recording studios to lower reverberation times. In industrial sectors, they serve as linings for generator enclosures and mechanical rooms to dampen equipment noise. The product is also utilized in HVAC duct lining to reduce air noise transmission in ventilation systems.

Certifications

Manufacturing is conducted under the ISO9001 quality management system to ensure uniform fiber distribution and density. The products hold CE and SGS certifications, validating their sound absorption coefficients and fire safety compliance for international markets.

FAQ

Q1: What is the relationship between density and acoustic performance for your panels?

We produce panels with densities typically ranging from 60kg/m³ to 120kg/m³. Higher density generally improves sound absorption at lower frequencies, and we can adjust this parameter to meet the specific NRC or STC (Sound Transmission Class) requirements of your project.

Q2: Can you apply facing materials to the acoustic panels during production?

Yes, we can factory-apply various facing materials, such as black fiberglass tissue or aluminum foil, to the rock wool acoustic panel. This reduces on-site labor and prevents fiber migration in high-velocity airflow applications like HVAC lining.

Q3: How do you handle packaging to prevent damage to edges during shipping?

We use reinforced thermal shrinkage packaging and corner guards for palletized shipments. This ensures the structural integrity of the panel edges is preserved during ocean freight and local handling.
